2. What data we collect

We collect as little data as possible. Specifically:

• Profile data (optional): If you choose to create a profile, your username, puzzle stats, and rating are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data does not leave your device unless you opt into a synced account in the future.
• Preference data: Your dark mode setting is saved in localStorage on your device.
• Email address (optional): If you email us at founder@sacsacmate.com, we receive your email address and message content solely for the purpose of responding to you.
• Usage data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (pages visited, session duration) to understand how the site is used. This data is not linked to any individual.

3. How we use your data

We use the data we collect only to operate and improve the site — saving your preferences, tracking your puzzle progress locally, and responding to your messages. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site currently uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to save your profile and preferences on your device. localStorage data does not expire automatically and is not transmitted to our servers. 5. Third-party services

The site loads resources from the following third-party providers:

• Tailwind CSS CDN — for styling
• Cloudflare CDN — for chess libraries
• Google Fonts — for the Inter typeface
• Lichess — puzzles are sourced from their open database

These providers may collect standard server-side request logs (IP address, browser type) when your browser requests their resources. We do not control this data. Please review each provider's privacy policy for details.

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your rights

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for sacsacmate.com. If you have emailed us and wish us to delete your correspondence, contact us at founder@sacsacmate.com and we will do so promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
